Sunrise Safari at Udawalawe Park

Udawalawe National Park generally has fewer safari jeeps than other parks

The Udawalawe National Park in the south of Sri Lanka was established in 1972 to protect elephants and birds. This conservation area, covering just about 300 square kilometers, is home to abundant Asian elephants, water buffaloes, crocodiles, and a stunning variety of birdlife. Visitors can enjoy excellent wildlife viewing from elevated safari vehicles, making it an unforgettable experience. You will leave at 4am in the morning to be at the park for sunrise - the best time to see the animals before they hide in the shade from the afternoon sun.

Our food

Fresh, organic and healthy food - also from our own garden

Healthy and nutricious food is a top priority at Kelani! We grow our own organic veggies in the garden and our talented retreat chef will delight you with a delicious vegetarian brunch every morning (except on your free day). Enjoy fresh, organic greens, and if you're feeling adventurous, you can pick and open your own coconut! The tempting dishes shown in the photos were prepared by Meraki next door, offering a glimpse into the culinary experiences that await you.
