Our Story and Vision at Kelani Retreat Sri Lanka
We’ve been incredibly busy this past year, pouring our love and energy into a dream that’s finally taking shape: creating and building Kelani Retreat in Madiha, Sri Lanka.
The journey began in December 2024, when Kevin and Daniel stayed in Bandula and his wife's beautiful home. In a gesture of immense kindness, they offered us the opportunity to rent the house and become part of their family.
Set on 3,000 square meters of lush garden filled with banana, coconut, papaya, mango, curry, and citrus trees, the space felt like a hidden paradise. We immediately knew we wanted to stay and create a sanctuary—a place to unwind, retreat, and embrace a healthy, conscious lifestyle.
We’ve been incredibly lucky to be surrounded by dear friends who came to help along the way. We’re endlessly grateful for every single one of you!
Of course, it hasn’t all been easy—starting a business, working with local contractors, and sourcing furniture in Sri Lanka has come with its fair share of challenges (especially while still juggling our remote jobs). But we’re learning so much every step of the way!
If you feel called to be part of this journey, we’d love to hear from you. We’re looking for volunteers and seasonal managers to join us from November to April.
